I humbled my soul with fasting. – Psalm 69:10 ESV

Father, I know it takes humility to pray for humility. The world idolizes power and prestige, and I often find myself pursuing those idols and even leveraging the power I have for my own good, even at the cost of others. Humility must be the starting point whenever the focus is on understanding you and your greatest sacrifice for me. So I ask you, Lord, take whatever humbleness you find in my soul and magnify it. Grow it deeper and higher and fuller than any pride I harbor there. And let me remember, humbleness is not the same as unworthiness because you have made me righteous. May I live out my righteousness in authentic humility. In Jesus’ name, amen.
