Dear God, it is hard to understand the power behind this commandment—the all-encompassing action to engage and serve anyone who has a need. Love is not a weak verb; it is powerful and can change lives. To understand all this commandment requires of me, I need to turn inside and

understand the depths and distances I will go to in order to meet my own needs and desires: working, defending, investing, sacrificing, and more. Reveal the needs of those around me. Convict and stir me to act and love powerfully, believing I can change lives and make you known. In Jesus’ name, amen.
