Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. – Matthew 6:33 NLT

Dear God, thank you that you meet my needs, even exceed them as you see fit. I confess that I spend too much time and resources on those things I want, rather than in gratefulness for what I have. Open my eyes to excess in my life, to self-centered desires, and to discontented splurges.

A shift in behavior begins with a change of mind. Help me respond to the nudging of the Holy Spirit to seek you first, before anyone or anything else. Convict me of my motives, and let gratefulness reign in my heart. In the name of Jesus, amen.
