Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer (which means “the stone of help”), for he said, “Up to this point the LORD has helped us!” - 1 Samuel 7:12 NLT
God, you are an ever-present help in time of need. You are a promise-making, promise-keeping God. You never leave me, or forsake me. You hear me when I call out to you. You forgive me and extend mercy. You give me courage and strength. You bring beauty from ashes. The evidence fills my daily life. But all too often I have both short- and long-term memory loss when it comes to your faithfulness. Just like Samuel, I want to create an “Ebenezer” memorial—a tangible reminder of your goodness in my life. In faith I pray, Amen.
