Encounter: Simon’s Mother-in-law

Scripture: Luke 4:38-39 NIV

Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus,

I haven’t experienced most of the illnesses or diseases you healed during your ministry on earth, but I have suffered from fevers, both mild and severe. Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering to the point of being bedridden. In kindness, you healed her, relieving her pain and suffering. In duty and gratitude, her response was to get up at once and serve you. My prayer is this, every day I wake up fever free, may I find a way to serve you out of gratitude.
