The Book of Jonah is one of the most loved, studied, and enjoyed books of the Hebrew Bible, and for good reason. We are stunned at his disobedience, actions, and attitudes as God’s prophet, captured by events on the sea, inside the great fish, and on land at Nineveh, amazed by the pagan mariners and Ninevites, and awed by the character, words, and acts of God.

This class explores the book of Jonah and how the writer of the book crafts his story, message, and lesson so that we get it. We learn that the biblical writer is adept not only at telling a great tale, but also in showing us something of ourselves in Jonah in light of God’s character and acts.

Dinner from 5:15-6:15 p.m. in the Atrium: Chick-fil-A sandwich, chips, and drink ($7).
